Vitamin D to build muscle

I’ve been away for a little bit, but I’ve been making some interesting developments in my own training program that I’m going to be sharing with you soon. For today some cool info about using vitamin supplementation to naturally boost anabolic hormones.

When it comes to optimizing our bodies for muscle growth, a lot of the keys to it seem to be taking in the optimal amount of nutrients. A study I came across suggests the importance of Vitamin D: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/24508736/?i=1&from=vitamin+d+skeletal+muscle

Low vitamin D levels are correlated with low testosterone levels, which speaks to the effect it may have on muscle growth AND fat loss.

Yet another interesting article suggests that Vitamin D can actually be counter-productive if not taken with Vitamin A. Here’s another article that suggests Vitamin A can be helpful for muscle growth and testosterone production.

Another thing we ought to keep in mind is that both Vitamin A and Vitamin D are fat soluble vitamins and therefore require dietary fat in order to be used by the body. From everything I’ve researched, fish oil appears to be an ideal source of fat for this purpose… the added bonus: fish oil itself is known to promote testosterone production, which seems to suggest that Vitamin A&D supplementation WITH fish oil is the perfect natural testosterone promoting cocktail.
