Clubbells… useful or another fad?

Clubbells
While they’ve been around for many years now, I’ll be honest, I’ve only recently heard about clubbells being used in bodybuilding, and the concept seems to be interesting… using off-balanced weights to help with functional training. So the question arises, do these have a place outside of baseball/sports training.

While occasionally a new or more efficient way of stimulating hypertrophy crops up, for the most part, I go by the philosophy that life is too short to try to re-invent the wheel. People have been building amazing physiques long before any fancy equipment or newfangled devices were around.

I can see how clubbells can have some interesting applications, (like forearm flexion), but realistically it is nothing that can’t be duplicated with good old-fashioned free weights.
